Under normal conditions, the mucous lining of the digestive tract forms a protective barrier that prevents stomach acids and pepsin (an enzyme that helps digest proteins) from damaging the organ that produces them (the stomach). In such cases, a peptic ulcer may form, which is a kind of wound that develops in the inner lining of the stomach (gastric ulcer) or intestine (duodenal ulcer).

Directions for use:
