Tensicor is a dietary supplement based on Olive Leaf Extract, Garlic, Hawthorn, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Selenium, which have the following properties and functions:
Olive (Olea europea): Olive Leaf Extract: Olive has been used as a diuretic and hypotensive. Its hypotensive effect is documented due to the action of oleuropein, which is a vasodilator compound that inhibits the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE).
Hawthorn (Crataegus oxycantha): The hypotensive effects of hawthorn extracts have been indicated by a combination of reduced vascular resistance through relaxation of smooth vascular muscle, inhibition of eicosanoid synthesis, inhibition of angiotensin-converting enzyme, and mild diuresis.
Garlic (Allium sativum): Garlic has been indicated for its antioxidant properties, helping to prevent cardiovascular diseases including atherosclerosis, reduce plasma cholesterol levels and blood pressure, as well as stimulate the immune system.
Vitamin C: Vitamin C contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the normal functioning of blood vessels. It also contributes to the regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E. It contributes to the protection of cells against unwanted oxidations.
Vitamin E: Vitamin E has well-accepted antioxidant action, protecting cells from peroxidative damage. The reduction of blood pressure is related to the inhibition of endothelin secretion, improving endothelial dysfunction, as well as systemic vascular resistance.
