The tea tree essential oil is widely known and one of the most used and demanded essential oils worldwide. It can be found in a variety of hygiene and cosmetic products. Australian aborigines have been using it for its antiseptic properties, both in infusions and topical scrubs, to improve their skin condition and prevent infections. The global demand has led to thousands of hectares being cultivated in Australia and other countries.
