**Pau D’arco**
Tabebuia impetiginosa is one of the most traditionally used species. The properties of Pau d’Arco are thought to be associated with the presence of naphthoquinones, especially lapachol, lapachones, and furano-naphthoquinones.
Pau d’Arco has been used for many years in traditional medicine for various conditions. It is useful in situations such as fungal and bacterial infections, gastric ulcers, and immune system reinforcement. The compounds responsible for these properties are believed to be naphthoquinones (e.g., lapachol). Its properties include antibacterial, antifungal, immunostimulant, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory effects. Additionally, it can be used by diabetics to help regulate blood glucose levels.
